Drive, Bearings, and Wheel Construction
The blower assembly sits on rubber vibration isolators inside the housing. The motor is NEMA B with class B insulation, rated for continuous duty. Bearings are permanently lubricated sealed ball type selected for a minimum L50 life of 200,000 hours. Belts are oil and heat resistant, non-static type, with precision machined cast iron drives keyed to the wheel and motor shafts and sized for 150 percent of installed motor horsepower.
The wheel is a forward curved DWDI centrifugal type made of painted steel, balanced per AMCA Standard 204-05. The standard filter is a one-inch washable aluminum panel (21-3/4 x 27 inches on the 100 size). Two-inch filters are available as an option. Maximum operating temperature is 180°F.
Discharge Options and NFPA 96 Configuration
The 100KSPB is available in bottom discharge or side discharge. Both use the same cabinet and curb dimensions. Specify the discharge direction at the time of order.
For NFPA 96 installations, the 100KSPB can be paired with a Loren Cook VCR exhaust fan on a common curb cap. An intake extension is required when the supply fan inlet must be separated at least 10 feet from the exhaust outlet. Where 10 feet of horizontal separation is not possible, a 3-foot minimum vertical separation with a vented extension meets code. Call us to confirm the correct accessories for your roof layout.
FAQ
What is the difference between the KSPB and KSPD?
The KSPB is belt drive and the KSPD is direct drive. The KSPB is available in six sizes (90 through 200) with higher CFM and static pressure capacity. The KSPD covers three smaller cabinet sizes for lower-volume applications up to 1800 CFM.
Does the 100KSPB meet NFPA 96 requirements?
Yes, when paired with a Loren Cook VCR exhaust fan on a common curb cap and fitted with the required intake extension. The specific accessories depend on your exhaust fan size and roof layout. Call us to get the right configuration.
Can I order a 100KSPB with side discharge?
Yes. Side discharge is a factory option. Specify the discharge direction when you place your order. The cabinet and curb dimensions are the same for both configurations.
