Installation & Application FAQ

What is the advantage of the HSB connection topology?

HSB models feature copper supply and return connections at the top and bottom, allowing for 360-degree rotation to align with existing piping without relocation.

What is the main difference between HSB and HC models?

The difference lies in the connection topology. HSB models feature top- and bottom-mounted connections for 360-degree rotation, while HC units use side-mounted connections to provide a lower vertical profile for restricted ceiling heights.

Can these units be used with both steam and hot water?

Yes. While standard ratings are based on 2 PSI steam, these units are fully compatible with hot water systems and typically deliver 60% to 70% of their steam-rated BTU capacity.

What mounting options are available?

Smaller models (HSB-18 and HSB-24) can be pipe-mounted. Larger models (HSB-33 and up) include tapped holes for threaded rod or pipe suspension to decouple weight from the system piping.
